Why isn’t water coming out when I pull the trigger?

  1. Make sure that the water hose is connected to both the outside faucet and the pressure washer inlet fitting. Make sure that the water is turned on. Make sure that there are no kinks or obstructions in either the hose or the pressure washer inlet fitting. If the pump has adequate water supply, there is a clog on the outgoing side of the system. Between each of the steps below, make sure to turn the pressure off.

  1. Remove the lance from the gun.

  1. Restart the pressure washer using proper procedure, and pull the trigger. If water comes out of the gun, the lance needs to be replaced. If water does not come out of the gun, turn off the pressure washer.

  1. Remove the gun from the high pressure hose. Restart the pressure washer using proper procedure. If water comes out of the hose, the gun needs to be replaced. If water does not come out of the hose, turn off the pressure washer.

  1. Remove the high pressure hose from the outlet fitting. Restart the pressure washer using proper procedure. If water comes out of the outlet fitting, replace the hose. If water does not come out of the outlet fitting, turn off the pressure washer.

  1. Remove the garden hose and check the inlet fitting on the pressure washer again. If you still cannot get water to come out of the pump, the pressure washer needs repair.
